As a licensed architect, Van has worked in design and construction for 20 years. He belongs to the AIA, NCARB, and is certified as a BPI Building Analyst and a Green Advantage professional. Currently he works at the Kentucky Housing Corporation as a consultant on a variety of energy efficiency and green initiatives. He has played an integral role in developing the Ky Home Performance program and the training resources necessary to work in the field.
